In the Spicy laddiess cat shirt but in fact I love this corner of my apartment sits a vase of green hypericum berries and sunflowers. It resembles less “Vincent van Gogh painting” and more “attempted recreation of a Vincent van Gogh painting by a middle schooler”—there are a few awkward gaps, with some stalks slightly shorter than others. One flower is inexplicably wilted. Yet despite its imperfections, it brings me so much joy. In part because bouquets are scientifically proven to do so, but also because I went to the bodega, picked out miscellaneous flora, and arranged them myself.
